Amongst their talents, Cathy & Marcy have successfully written music and lyrics, performed and produced many special theme projects for commission, educational organizations and causes they believe in.

2009: Cathy & Marcy contribute tracks on banjo, mandolin, dulcimer and guitar for National Geographic special on the Appalachian Trail.

005: “SCAT LIKE THAT” becomes Grand Prize Winner in the Children’s Music Category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. The title song of Cathy & Marcy’s GRAMMY® nominated CD also won the USA international Songwriting Contest in the Children’s field.

The Micronutrient Intitiative funded a project on health and nutrition for children and families. Bon Appétit! Includes original songs by Cathy & Marcy. It won the 2004 GRAMMY® Award, Parents’ Choice Gold Award and Washington Area Music Associat
ion Award.

1998: Meet The Composer Awarded Cathy & Marcy with a grant to compose songs with elementary school students. A residency at the
University Park Elementary School in Maryland yielded 3 songs that were included on the GRAMMY® nominated recording, “PILLOW FULL OF WISHES”.

1996: Work Family Directions and AT&T commission Cathy & Marcy to write songs on media literacy & creative conflict resolution for the recording, “CHANGING CHANNELS”, which goes on toe win a GRAMMY® nomination and multiple other in
dustry awards.

1996: Cathy & Marcy create and perform 2 shows (K-2, 3-5grades) for
Gaithersburg, MD public schools on Drug Prevention.

1994: Work Family Directions commissions Cathy & Marcy to write songs for a pre-school safety tape, distrib
uted privately.

1992: “A New View” reading curriculum for McGraw Hill School Publishers includes many songs composed by Cathy & Marcy and 80 songs p
roduced by them.

1988: Cathy writes anthem for the Names Quilt, “NAMES”. Over 30 recordings by other artists are made. The song is translated to Japanese by Tomoya Takaishi. Cathy & Marcy toured
Japan with Tomoya and the Japanese Names Quilt volunteers.
